Welcome to the unit Laboratory practice and management

This unit typically covers the knowledge and skills required to manage and operate a laboratory within a specific industry such as healthcare, research, environmental science and manufacturing while adhering to industry regulations and standards. The unit has three modules which includes Introduction to laboratory practice and management, Administer First Aid and handle laboratory specimens.

Summary of learning outcomes

By the end this unit, the learner should be able to,

  1. discuss the introduction of laboratory practice and management
  2. demonstrate the knowledge on first aid 
  3. discuss handling of laboratory specimen.

Assessment

Assessments will be in form of credits gained from Continuous Assessment test, practical and final examination.

Distribution of marks

CAT 1 30MKS

PRACTICAL  20MKS

END TERM  50 MKS

Summation of cat, practical and end term examination will give you your final grade for this unit .
